IT TAKES A VILLAGE
Point Grey Veterinary Hospital strives to enhance and promote the human-animal relationship. (Because, after all, owning a pet promotes your health, too.) We wanted to provide the best care and a low-stress environment for pets during their vet visits. That is why, as part of our vision and core value, all of our doctors and support staff are Fear Free certified. So, your pet’s emotional and physical well-being is prioritized with every visit. Point Grey Veterinary Hospital puts the patient first and reduces fear, anxiety, and stress from the start.

Dr. Rebecca Burke
(Fear-Free Certified)
Dr. Rebecca Burke grew up in the west of Ireland and graduated from veterinary school at University College Dublin in 2017.
Prior to that, she obtained a Bachelor of Science from the National University of Ireland, Galway.
Dr. Burke first came to Canada for the summer with friends and quickly knew it was where she wanted to put down roots. She has a particular interest in companion animal nutrition and behaviour. Dr. Burke loves to take her high-energy pup, Watson, on long hikes and the occasional run in her spare time.
Dr. Jessica Robinson
(Fear-Free Elite)
Dr. Jessica Robinson is a 2021 graduate from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Charlottetown, PEI. She received recognition for excellent patient care in her clinical years.
Jessica is South African by birth but became a Canadian citizen after spending her childhood in Winnipeg before moving to British Columbia. Since those early years, Jessica has been involved in the veterinary medicine field in some capacity. From volunteering with O.W.L as a young adult to assisting at the BC Wildlife Park while completing her Bachelor of Science at Thompson Rivers University, Jessica has always enjoyed being immersed in the many spectacular aspects of this line of work.
True to her Canadian upbringing, she spends a considerable amount of time participating in winter sports. She also adores back-country hiking and enjoying all the beauty nature offers (which certainly isn’t difficult to do in a place like Vancouver). You may even see her biking into work if you are scheduled for the first appointment of the day!
Jessica has a wide variety of professional interests, some of which include nutrition, behaviour, and acupuncture. Keeping to Fear-Free principles, she believes in making each fur baby’s visit as calm and low-stress as she possibly can.
She is absolutely thrilled to be joining the Point Grey Veterinary Hospital family and cannot wait to get to know you and your pets!
Dr. Carmen Chan (Only seeing clients at our Fraserview location)
(Fear-Free Elite)
Dr. Carmen Chan is the owner and principal veterinarian at Point Grey Veterinary Hospital. She grew up in Vancouver and attended the University of British Columbia, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology. Upon graduation, she traveled to Australia to pursue a veterinary medicine degree and graduated with honours from the University of Melbourne in 2009. After spending some time working in a large welfare animal hospital in the heart of Melbourne, Carmen joined a private small animal practice for the next 4 years before returning to Vancouver in 2014. It wasn’t long before she joined forces with her husband, Rhys, to take over ownership of Point Grey Veterinary Hospital in 2015.
Some of Carmen’s main areas of interest include preventive medicine, senior health care, dental health, and cardiology. She is dedicated to providing the very best veterinary care and believes in working closely with clients to create treatment plans that best suit the needs of each client and their pets. Carmen is fluent in both Cantonese and English. It is her goal to build strong relationships with her clients and provide consistency in the care of their furry friends. Carmen is looking forward to meeting everyone and welcomes all questions or concerns you may have.
